TELUGU VANI
Telugu Vani is the Radio Broadcasting wing of Telugu Association. It is the voice of Telugu Community which is the most sought after program by Telugu Community on Saturdays. Vani is run by a team of dedicated volunteers.  This team enjoys editorial independence to ensure the quality and integrity of programs aired, and compliance with the standards of the Radio Station.

Vani is broadcasts to the residents of Sydney and many country areas of NSW on Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on 98.5 MHz FM.  Thanks to the technology. The Radio program is also made available on the Internet. Patrons can listen to current and archived programs. Vani brings the tradional as well as modern radio culture to the drawing rooms every Saturday morning with Bhajans, film music, interviews, dramas, talk-back, announcements, quizzes and many more.

VANITHA MANDALI

Telugu Vanita is the ladies forum of Telugu Association started on October 10 1993. The activities of Vanitha are coordinated by a dedicated tem of ladies. Its main objective is to promote the welfare of Telugu women of all ages. It has a pivotal role in organizing welfare tasks such as:

• Physical fitness; activities such as bush walks, sports, picnics etc

• Workshops for job seekers on interview preparation and tips

• Breast screening and mammogram testing

• Information seminars on diabetes, gastroenterology, stress management, nutrition Workshops of creative skills such as arts and crafts, food preparations and demonstrations

• Alternative beauty and relaxation techniques such as Reiki and Pranic healing Ladies only entertainment programs to promote festivals (Holi, Dasara)

• Propagating Telugu values and traditions to next generation young-adults

• Charity and senior citizens/community based activities, blood donation, help in soup kitchens etc.

• Monthly bush walks

• Tree planting in consultation with local councils

• Literary and recreational activities

• Organize factory outlet shopping or long distance sight-seeing bus tours for women

TELUGU SCHOOL
Telugu Vidyalayam (School) is the educational wing of Telugu Association to preserve Telugu language amongst Telugu families by teaching Telugu to children. Telugu School is run every weekend to teach Telugu language to children and encouraged them to speak in it. They are run in public schools in Sydney supported by dedicated teachers.

These Schools are recognized by NSW Government for the sanctioning of grants. The Schools adopt modern teaching methods with hands-on projects. Many students are encouraged to present their skills through stage activities in the Association’s cultural functions.
The classes are presently held at:

•   Eastwood Public School, Rowe Street, Eastwood 

•   Infantry Parade, Holsworthy

VAHINI
Telugu Association publishes a quarterly Telugu magazine with news and articles. Apart from the Association’s news, it contains articles written by local and international authors and cartoons. Vahini is run by an Editorial Board with autonomy and editorial independence to ensure quality and integrity of the matter published in it.

Vahini encourages every Telugu person to write articles in Telugu for publication.  However, Vahini recognizes that the next generation Telugu children in Australia may have limited knowledge of writing skills in Telugu. Therefore, as Vahini is the community’s magazine, it would like to encourage every Telugu person to contribute his/her literary work of art for publication in either Telugu or English. This we believe will help us all enjoy the creative talents of Telugu youth. Also, we will be able to increase the circulation of our magazine amongst non-Telugu communities in Australia.

ANNUAL FUNCTIONS

Telugu Association organises two annual functions every year, namely Deepavali and Ugadi which fall around November and March every year. For the past two years New Year`s cruise functions have also been organised. STA also organises annual sports day event in January every year. It also participates in fairs such as the annual UIA (United Indian Association)`s in Sydney.

FELICITATING VISITING ARTISTS
During 1997-98 Telugu Association felicitated various visiting artistes including Dr S Janaki, Dr M Balamuralikrishna Mr T Kodanda Rami Reddy Mr B V Pattabhi Ram, Magician/Hypnotist from Hyderabad performed exclusively for the Telugu Association during March 1998 and enthralled the audiences. 1998-98 Deepavali October 17th - Dr Nerella Venumadhava Rao, famous mimicry artiste from India gave a performance along with Mr Kaladhar, a reputed Mime artist. Australian Kuchipudi dance prodigy Ms Michelle Visalakshi gave a dance performance for our Ugadi function in March1999.
