Telugu Vani, is constituted by Telugu Association Inc. (also known as Sydney Telugu Association –STA) to promote Telugu Culture through Radio Broadcast on Radio 2TripleO FM 98.5 MHz, Radio2TripleO.com.au. Telugu Vani acts as one of the communication channels for the Association.
The Radio programs typically broadcasts in Telugu, an Indian language, which exemplifies Telugu culture, literature, music, arts, dramas, films, film songs and performing arts. The weekly broadcast of 2 hours generally has a central theme covering one of these elements and includes presentation of dramas, musical performances and literary activities and interviewing of eminent artists andthought leaders on culture.
The Radio broadcasts have been serving the Greater Sydney Region through the FM98.5 since 1992.The programs can also be listened via internet streaming or even dialling to a dedicated audio telephone number and attracts a good audience.
About 25 enthusiastic volunteer broadcasters who are also Life Members of the Telugu AssociationInc. (Sydney Telugu Association), contribute their valuable time to prepare and deliver quality programs. Every now and then, Telugu Vani presents guest programs with overseas personalities of eminence from various forms of Arts.
Some of the eminent people who visited our station and participated in programs on literature, music, films and performing arts include M/s Jonnavithula Ramalingeswararao - leading poet and writer, Samavedam Shanmukha Sharma – poet, Tanikella Bharani – writer, poet, actor and literary critic, Pappu Venugopalaro – writer and scholar on art andculture, Mime Madhu – a performing artist, Jagadish Chennupati (AC) – scientist and scholar, Vandemataram Srinivas – musician, singer & composer, Meegada Ramalingaswamy – literary scholar and writer, Kausalya – music (singer), Bhuvanachandra - writer, Madhavapeddi Suresh –music composer and instrumentalist.
These eminent persons showcase and present to the listeners with a specified cultural form they have expertise and knowledge in.
The weekly broadcast is scheduled for Saturdays 08:00 – 10:00 AM. The studio is located at Level 3,9 Deane Street, Burwood. People who are interested to participate in Telugu Vani activities or would like to sponsor a specific week's program may contact the Telugu Vani Convener.
